A striking start to the year in Chile!

The start of the year in Chile was exceptional for our team. We had the chance to collaborate with renowned artist Pierre Huyghe on his “Liminal” art project. In co-production with Spline, we deployed a Dolly IP. It accompanied the artist, his studio and the Franco-Chilean film crew to the Atacama desert for an unforgettable experience.

A Unique Experience in the Atacama Desert

Pierre Huyghe’s “Liminal” project explores the boundaries between reality and fiction. He uses advanced technologies to create immersive, futuristic artworks. The choice of the Atacama desert, one of the most arid places on the planet, added a unique dimension to the project, challenging both the team and the equipment.

We installed a Dolly IP, a cutting-edge robotics and cinematography technology that enables precise, innovative shooting. Despite extreme weather conditions, with temperatures reaching 50°C, our equipment held up perfectly, ensuring that the shoot went smoothly.

Presentation at the Venice Biennale

The resulting work, titled “CAMATA”, was presented at the prestigious Punta della Dogana for the 60th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art. This ambitious, avant-garde project captured the attention of critics and the public alike, consolidating Pierre Huyghe’s reputation and demonstrating the technological innovation brought by our Dolly IP.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this unique project. A special thanks to Benjamin Buziol, Director of the Robotics Department, who came on site and supervised the installation and operation of our equipment.

This project marked a promising start to the year for our team, illustrating our commitment to artistic and technological innovation. We look forward to participating in new projects and continuing to push back the boundaries of creativity.
